Reception / Front Desk – Our reception is open daily from 8:30am to 4pm. There is 24 hour security on the property and they are always able to assist when the reception is closed.
Check in/out time – Check in time is 4pm on arrival day and check out time on day of departure is 11am. Late check outs may be available at a nominal fee for late departure flights. Please ask at reception and we will do our best to accommodate you but cannot guarantee availability.
Air conditioning – All apartments are equipped with separate Air-Conditioning units and ceiling fans
Babysitters – The Reception Desk has a list of reliable babysitters who need to be booked 24 hours in advance. This service is only available through Antigua Village Reception.
Banking facilities – Antigua and Barbuda is home to a variety of international and domestic banks offering full commercial and private banking services. The principal banks include Scotiabank, First Caribbean International Bank, Royal Bank of Canada, Antigua Commercial Bank, ECAB, and Caribbean Union Bank and others are available. Banking hours are Monday through Thursday from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm and Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Most banks are equipped with ATM machines for out of hours banking and cash dispensing. ATM machines can also be found at the major supermarkets, First Choice and Epicurean.
Beach Towels – Beach Towels will be provided in each guest room on arrival (one per registered guest). Beach towels may be changed daily at the ‘Housekeeping’ office, or out of hours at Reception. Beach towels not returned at the end of a stay will be charged.
Car Rental – Reception will gladly help you in obtaining a rental car or jeep. An Antiguan Visitor’s Driving License is necessary and this can usually be obtained from the vehicle rental company.
Church Services – Our Reception has a full list of all the places of worship for all denominations represented in Antigua.
Credit Cards – We have a no cash policy. We accept the following major credit and charge cards: Visa, Mastercard, Discover & American Express. Personal cheques are not accepted.
Currency/Money: The official currency of Antigua is the Eastern Caribbean dollar, which is fixed to the U.S. dollar. While the official exchange rate is US$1.00 = EC$2.7169 this rate varies slightly. Banks will buy at a rate of US$1.00 = EC$2.6882 and most local businesses use a rate of US$1.00 = EC$2.60 or EC$2.65 but this rate may vary at different businesses. ATMs can be found in St John’s and at several other locations across the island and at the airport. The nearest ATM machine to Antigua Village is at the First Choice Supermarket.
The U.S. dollar is accepted by most merchants, particularly those frequented by tourists (this includes car rental companies, tours, and restaurants). Expect change to be given in Eastern Caribbean dollars. Most merchants accept major credit cards, though smaller businesses may only accept cash, so be sure to come prepared.
Doctor – We have two doctors on call to Antigua Village. Kindly settle fees directly after the doctor has been in attendance. The Antiguan Government has set fixed rates and all doctors usually follow these rates.
Drinking Water: Although the water from the tap is safe to drink we would advise you to either filter it or drink bottled water.
Electric Current – All rooms are equipped with 110 Voltage 60 cycle.
First Aid – Please contact the Front Desk or our 24-hour security team by dialing “0” or “4040”.
Grocery and Liquor Store – There is a convenience store “Easy Grab at the Village” located just opposite the Reception Area at the car park. EZ Grab is open daily from 8 am to 5 pm. Also, on some mornings a local fresh fruit and vegetables seller sets up in the car park with first-class fresh produce. The 1St Choice Supermarket is within walking distance or a two-minute car ride away.
Hairdressing – Appointments may be made via Reception at a number of nearby salons.
Island Activities – electric bike tours or solo biking, scuba diving, sailing, deep sea fishing, golf, zip lining, and many more activities are available just a stroll away from the Village. Please contact our reception team.
Keys – For your safety please deposit your key at Reception when leaving Antigua Village. Guests will be charged for each lost room key. Room keys should be taken with you if you plan to return after Reception has closed for the evening.
Maid Service – We provide regular housekeeping services during your stay to include cleaning, towel replacement and replenishing other amenities.
Pool – Our freshwater swimming pool is open from 8 am to 7 pm daily. Children should use the shallow end of the pool and always be accompanied by an adult.
Safety Deposit Boxes – For your convenience individual safety deposit boxes are available in your room. We suggest that our guests make use of these boxes to safely store their valuables, as regrettably, Antigua Village will not take responsibility for valuables not protected in this manner. Please note: should you lose your safety deposit box key there will be a charge for lock replacement. There is a charge for use of the safety deposit boxes.
Security – Please ensure that all windows and doors are locked before retiring or when leaving your room, and that nothing of value is left outside. There is a 24-hour security service at Antigua Village for the general security of the property and to prevent unauthorized persons wandering around. Also, security will check to ensure that entrance and patio doors are locked, especially at night.
Shopping Hours: Monday through Saturday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. The major supermarkets are open 7 days a week from early morning until late in the evening.
Sightseeing and Tours – The Guest Services staff will be delighted to advise you on the best tours and excursions available and to make bookings for you.
Taxis – Taxis are readily available near Reception. Antigua Village is proud to boast a team of excellent, friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable taxi drivers. Although taxis in Antigua are not metered, fares are fixed and a list of current tariffs is available in reception.
Time Zone – Atlantic Standard Time, GMT +4, one hour ahead of Eastern Standard Time and the same as Eastern Daylight Time.
Water Sports – These services are available on the beach by private operators. These usually feature windsurfing, sunfish sailing, and waterskiing. Other water sports activities are also available for your pleasure.
